The Director of Events will be involved in every aspect of the event planning cycle within the IAB's portfolio - from inception through to onsite execution.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hard worker with a minimum of 10 years events experience to join a dynamic organization in a thriving industry.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage one-day and multi-day conferences from inception to execution, including venue sourcing, contract negotiation, BEOs and registration;
Manage sponsor & exhibitor fulfillment from contract signing through pre-event planning and onsite execution;
Manage P&L: create and work within existing budgets, build forecasts for spend and process/reconcile invoices post-event;
Manage and develop a small team ( currently two Event Managers);
Create post-event reports for sponsors and for internal team;
Work with Marketing team to produce app, signage, and printed collateral for the events;
Work with the sales team to develop inventory and sponsor packages;
Handle vendor negotiations and relations (A/V, decorator, premiums);
Create sponsorship and registration invoices; and
Perform other tasks as required.

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressive experience in meeting/event planning;
Experience managing a small team;
Experience managing sponsors or clients relationships and fulfillment required;
The ideal candidate has a passion for events, is highly organized, has a high sense of urgency and is very customer service oriented;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite- strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must;
Familiarity with registration systems - CVENT preferred;
Exposure to digital media and advertising and/or mobile internet/technology industries is a plus; and
Some travel, overtime and weekend work is required as needed.
