The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is a member supported organization that empowers the media and marketing industries to thrive in the digital economy. Our membership is comprised of more than 650 leading media and technology companies that are responsible for selling, delivering, and optimizing digital advertising or marketing campaigns.
As an intern with the IAB, you will have exposure to some of the most important issues facing the industry today and the thought leadership initiatives designed to solve for those issues. You will learn how our organization functions and how we manage a large amount data that allows us to serve our members. Our intern program provides weekly learning sessions developed around key topics each department is working on and an opportunity to participate in industry events hosted by the IAB. We expect you to bring a fresh approach and have input on business objectives and strategies. Networking is a large part of what we do, so you will be given the opportunity to meet employees throughout the organization as well as interns from other programs to exchange ideas, learning experiences and the insight you have gained into the digital economy and how it functions.
The IAB Education Foundation, a non-profit arm of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, was formed to tackle two prominent issues in the industry; a growing talent and skills gap, and lack of gender, racial, cultural, and economic diversity. In response, the IAB Education Foundation and its iDiverse initiative launched a Digital Advertising Program to provide job-seekers with insight into the industry ecosystem in order to arm them with the necessary skills to excel in entry-level positions. We are committed to building a diverse digital talent pipeline and changing how diversity is perceived and rewarded within organizations. This new foundation offers an incredible opportunity to grow along with the foundation itself. The Education Foundation Intern will assist in the operations and administration of the IAB Education Foundation and iDiverse initiative.
The position begins June 11th and ends August 17th. Interns are expected to work approximately 40 hours a week and will be paid $13/hour.
Duties and Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to):
Coordinate and execute IAB Education Foundation events, with staff, such as Career Accelerator nights.
Assist with marketing needs to communicate the IAB Education Foundation’s activities through newsletters, email updates, social media outreach.
Update the IAB Education Foundation website and LinkedIn group pages.
Maintain Salesforce database for member outreach, communications, and events.
Aid in the Diversity & Inclusion Task Force and Working Group operations, such as drafting communications, scheduling meetings, and liaising between IAB Education Foundation and Task Force members.
Coordinate communication between the IAB Education Foundation and its Board of Directors. Organize logistics for Board of Director meetings, draft memos, assist with decks, and communication updates. Help keep team on schedule with deliverables for the Board of Directors.
Provide assistance with calendar management for communications and events.
Support internal Diversity and Inclusion council’s needs, such as taking and compiling meeting minutes.
Perform administrative duties as needed.
Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
Strong experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Previous experience in non-profit or trade association
Knowledge of Salesforce preferred
Detail-oriented, organized individual with the ability to multitask effectively
Ability to collaborate in a team environment
Outgoing, passionate individual with a desire to learn
