The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is looking for an Instructional Designer to work on the Learning and Certification team, primarily focusing on building industry training and reporting to the Director of Learning and Development. The person in this role will also be a content manager and sit in the IAB’s NYC office.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Design and develop creative, impactful and engaging learning solutions that include, but are not limited to, classroom training, eLearning and blended learning solutions utilizing engagement tools such as animation, interactions, gamification and other eLearning strategies.
Write modules of content that ensure mastery of learning objectives.
Write and edit storyboards, interactive scripts, and other learning documentation.
Develop course materials including participant/facilitator guides and job aids.
Edit and produce video and audio training content.
Provide consultative partnership with managers and business owners in order to identify program gaps and recommend learning solutions.
Demonstrate high level of expertise in content design on a variety of subjects, using adult learning principals and standards.
Take ownership of training plans and follow up strategies.
Support strategic objectives and provide input and content expertise on Learning & Development initiatives as required.
Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs.
Work with SMEs, stakeholders, and course sponsors to collect feedback and integrate it into the next course drafts.
Manage content of IAB's learning management system for accuracy and relevance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to clearly design and develop trainings that result in high performance learning based knowledge checks and learning activities
Aptitude and capability to measure training effectiveness
Apply Adult Learning theory and instructional design for different delivery methods (instructor-led, virtual classroom, eLearning, other)
Positive, pro-active problem solving approach using member insights and company strategies
Can easily adjust to changes in programs, content, and schedules
Hands on experience working in Learning Management Systems
Proven ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts, etc.
Proven visual design skills and ability to storyboard
Expert level skill creating presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint
Hands-on experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud software (specifically Illustrator, InDesign)
Hands-on experience using eLearning development software (Adobe Captivate Preferred, Articulate Storyline a plus)
Experience building story based learning content
Hands-on experience using video recording and editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Camtasia
Proven ability in partnering with SMEs to turn complex technical training into interactive, easy to follow eLearning courses
Strong written and oral communication skills
Internal customer service focus – strong interpersonal, relationship building, consultation and influencing skills
2-3 years’ experience in the learning and development field
2-3 years’ experience in digital marketing or advertising technology / related industry
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, instructional design, or a related adult learning field
Experience creating and maintaining SCORM compliant courses and reporting
